Zoom Enabled Rooms

Zoom enabled rooms allow an instructor to teach in-person and virtual classes at the same time. If you are utilizing a Level 3 Zoom enabled room, you will either have a button panel or a touch screen panel to manage the classroom’s Zoom technology.

• Audio Settings

  To start a class in a Zoom enabled room, you need to ensure the correct speaker is selected in the Zoom Audio settings. Depending on the system in the room, it will either be Crestron (Intel® Display Audio) or Extron HDMI (Intel ® Display Audio). The microphone should be Same as System or Jack mic .

  

  

  If at any point you need to mute or unmute the audio for those that are online with Zoom, you must use the Mute feature in the Zoom options and not the panel.

  

  NOTE: Mute features on the classroom panels will not affect those listening via Zoom, only those in the classroom.
• Camera and Microphones

  Zoom enabled rooms provide cameras for those using Zoom to see the instructor as well as whiteboards in the classrooms. The camera will be in the ceiling of the classroom facing the podium. Once you select to enable the camera in Zoom, this is the camera that will be utilized.

  Classrooms will also be equipped with a podium mic and a lapel mic (Level 3 classrooms only). Both can be used with Zoom once same as system or jack mic is selected in Audio Settings. You will need to ensure the podium mic is on, which is indicated by the green power button.

  

  If an instructor prefers to use a lapel mic, one is provided in each classroom and can be used when same as system or jack mic is selected in Audio Settings. Proper placement of the mic is to place your right hand over your heart and place the mic at the top of the thumb.

  

  Larger classrooms provide ceiling microphones for students that are using Zoom for the class to be able to hear the students that are in the physical classroom speak. These mics are integrated into Zoom so once same as system or jack mic is selected in Audio Settings, they will be enabled.

  
• Button Panel

  In classrooms that have a button panel, there are only three buttons to use for Zoom enabled rooms. They control the camera angle that participants will see on the Zoom call.

  The first arrow, pointed down, focuses the camera on the podium.

  

  

  The second arrow, pointed to the left or right depending on the classroom, focuses the camera on the whiteboard. This arrow will point in the direction of the specific whiteboard that the camera will focus on if there is more than one whiteboard in a classroom.

  

  

  The third arrow, pointed up, provides a wide-angle view of the front of the classroom.

  

  

• Touch Panel

  To utilize the Touch Panel, touch the screen to power the panel on.

  

  As the system is powering on, instructions will remind you to select Mic In if an audio pop up displays on the computer.

  

  The touch panel allows the instructor to change the zoom of the camera classroom.

  The first option is Podium view.

  

  

  The other option is Wide angle.

  

  

  If the instructor would prefer the camera to be pointed at a white board or another location in the classroom, touch the Settings icon and use the arrow pad in the Camera Control area to adjust the position of the camera.

  

  

  In larger classrooms, there is a TV in the back of the classroom that allows the instructor to see what is being displayed on the monitor.
