SHSU Device - Maintenance and Care
To keep your device secure and running at maximum efficiency, it will need to remain on and connected to the internet frequently.
IT@Sam sends out updates for security and installed software for your device on Friday evenings beginning at 10 p.m. We strongly advise keeping your device on and connected to the internet overnight during this time. These updates automatically install and sometimes require a restart of your device, so be sure to save all your work.
In the event that a device is identified as having vulnerabilities, notification will be sent to the owner to remediate in a timely manner. Any devices not remediated within a predetermined amount of time may be disconnected from SHSU's network.
