SHSU offers career success by partnering with the SHSU Career Success Center. The Career Success Center offers services to both current students and alumni. Services include resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews, career conversations, job and internship searches, and access to our LinkedIn Group - Bearkats Get Hired. The LinkedIn Group serves as a job board and professional networking site connecting SHSU students and alumni to jobs, internships, career events, and presentations hosted by the Career Success Center. The group is updated daily with job and internship postings. Whether you are an alumni looking for a new opportunity or an employer looking to hire Bearkats, please click here to join!

Employers, are you wanting to HIRE BEARKATS?

Simply contact our Employer Engagement Team either via email or phone call, we will collect some information from you about the job or internship, and then we will send out the information to the specific populations of students you would like to recruit from. Our office will be using direct communications via email and text message to our students to notify them of opportunities with your company. As we work with you, we will also be able to set up interview sessions (on-campus or virtually) with our students should you want to request this service. SHSU and the Career Success Center will also be using LinkedIn as the main platform to connect employers to our students and alumni. If you have not already followed our Group on LinkedIn, click the follow button to request access to our page. We will work with employers to post these same opportunities for our students and alumni to view. But you have to be a follower of our group before we post this information within our Group.

Are you interested in being a guest speaker for the Career Success Center during one of the many career development presentations hosted every semester? The Career Success Center conducts multiple presentations each semester covering a wide range of topics - Resumes, Interviewing, Networking, Career/Internship Hunting, Professionalism and Personal Branding, the list goes on.
