Book Club
We’re thrilled to have you join the SHSU Alumni Association Book Club!
In this online community, alumni connect with each other to read and discuss books on a range of topics and member-submitted recommendations. There is no cost to participate – you have to get a copy of the book to enjoy it.
Currently Reading:
We are currently reading The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi.
Our next SHSU Book will be reading and discussing Nowhere Girl: A Memoir of a Fugitive Childhood By Cheryl Diamond. Diamond's riveting story of her harrowing and unusual childhood is sure to inspire much discussion! We would love to have you join us for this journey, culminating in a live, exclusive Q&A with the author on Thursday, July 21 at 2:00 PM EST.
How does it work?
The book club will connect through a private online forum where members can discuss the current book and network with each other. The group will spend approximately two months on each book, so you'll have plenty of time to read.
Why should you join?
There are three main reasons we hope you'll be excited to participate in our book club:
- Connect and network with your fellow alumni
- Be part of a lifelong learning community
- Reading is good for you!
