Shawn Staudaher
Shawn Staudaher earned his PhD in physics at the University of Wyoming where he studied nearby interacting galaxies. While finishing his PhD he spent a summer at Georgia Tech’s Data Science for Social Good program where he built a collaborative platform for community leaders in Atlanta and found an appreciation for the positive impacts of data and web development. After a brief stint working at ADP, and after completing his dissertation, he started at Georgia Tech’s Center for 21st Century Universities as a research scientist. There Shawn built data pipelines and predictive models to improve assessments, identify students who need extra help, and to help promote student engagement in online courses. He recently joined Sam Houston State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine as a data scientist, where his focus is on improving data management, building data dashboards, and researching new ways to use data for administrative and educational purposes.
Shawn was excited to join to SHSU-COM because of its mission to train rural doctors and the opportunity for data to provide positive impacts in the medical education space.
