“Here to Help” is a series focused on educating students on all the services available at Sam Houston State University. Many times students are unaware that these services are often offered at no cost with a Bearkat OneCard. If your department or student service would like to be featured for a future story email today@shsu.edu.
Tax season is almost here and for many, filing Federal Income Taxes is uncharted territory. For those whose household income is $56,000 or less, Sam Houston State University’s Bearkat Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Center will provide free federal income tax assistance in an online format via Zoom. The service is offered from Feb. 4 to April 15, 2021.
Required appointments are available on Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. To make an appointment, contact the VITA Center at vitacenter@shsu.edu or call 936-294-1263.
