Dr. Victoria Lantz (she/her) is a scholar, dramaturg, and associate professor of theatre at Sam. Here at SHSU, she teaches history and dramatic literature, movement, and education classes, and also directs and devises. She serves as the coordinator of Theatre Teacher Certification and teaches in the SHSU Honors College. She is the co-chair of Representation, Equity and Diversity with Region VI KCACTF and the Theatre History Focus Group Conference Planner for the Association for Theatre in Higher Education. In her professional work, she regularly does dramaturgical work for American Players Theatre and is a tourism and performance scholar. Recent publications include an article in The Journal of Popular Culture and a book chapter in Performance and the Disney Theme Park Experience: The Tourist as Actor. Her most recent book chapter, “Friends Just Around the Riverbend: Performing Intimacy and Authenticity in Disney Park Character Meets,” is due out with Intellect in 2022. When not working on projects, Vicky is probably on Zoom, playing D&D with other SHSU faculty..
