Aaron P. Martinez is currently on the faculty of Houston Baptist University and Sam Houston State University where he teaches Applied Woodwinds and Woodwind Techniques respectively. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, as well as a Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from Sam Houston State University where he studied with Dr. Scott D. Plugge. As a teacher and clinician he is in high demand, and he maintains a studio of well over 60 students ranging from elementary school to college age and beyond. He performs regularly with the Kingwood Pops Orchestra, Woodlands Symphony Orchestra, Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, The Theater Company of Bryan and various local theater companies as a woodwind doubler.
Past performances include accompanying the Kingwood Chorale on their concert tour of Great Britain and Canada as a featured soloist, the National Conservatory of Music in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Texas Music Educators Association Convention, the Texas Conference of the National Association of Composers, Symphony North, the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, and the North American Saxophone Alliance regional conference. He also performs as needed with the Symphony Orchestra of the Shepard School of Music at Rice University and the Houston Grand Opera.
