My name is Alisa Fustos, and I am currently a senior undergraduate student at Sam Houston State University studying Biology with a minor in Forensic Science. After graduation, I plan to continue my studies at Texas A&M University, pursuing a master’s degree in Epidemiology. Working with Dr. Montse Feu has been a valuable experience, allowing me to learn new skills which I am eager to apply to my future studies and career. When I am not working or studying, you can find me spending time with my dog, hiking or playing video games!.

When I changed my degree from Criminal Justice to Interdisciplinary Studies, I thought I was just going to focus on three separate minors and develop a specific skill set in each. However, my first impression has gone far beyond that. This course has encouraged me to think critically about how my minors connect and how I can integrate them into my personal life, career goals, and everyday decision-making. As said before, this way of thinking as reshaped the way I think academically and how I approach problems and ideas. As I continue my journey to law school, I believe this new thought process will continue to serve both as a future lawyer and, hopefully, one day a judge.
