Blake Roach
BLAKE ROACH of Austin, Texas is a manager in the Appointments Division in the Office of the Texas Governor Greg Abbott, where he manages the gubernatorial appointments for a number of medical, health and regulatory state boards, commissions and agencies. Previously, he worked as a policy advisor in the Budget and Policy Division of the Governor’s Office where handled policy matters related to natural resources. Prior to that, Blake worked as an aide in the Governor’s Office and the Texas Attorney General’s Office.
While attending SHSU, Blake worked as a campus tour guide and was a member of Chi Alpha Christian Ministries. He also volunteered with the Junior Fellows, a civic engagement organization on campus. He began his career in public administration as an intern with the Mayor of Huntsville and subsequently served as an assistant to the City Manager of Huntsville.
Blake is a husband and father to two daughters. He is an active member of Southwest Family Fellowship where he and his wife lead a study group and volunteer for the children’s ministry. In addition, he is a Life Member of the Sam Houston State Alumni Association. Blake received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Sam Houston State University.
