COHS Summer Camp

COHS Summer Camp

The College of Health Sciences at Sam Houston State University (SHSU) is pleased to offer it's annual Health Sciences Summer Camp, a 3-day educational camp for junior and senior high school students interested in health sciences and related fields. Participants enjoy hands-on and engaging learning experiences, interact with professionals from a variety of disciplines, and spend time with SHSU students. The camp is designed to expose students to a diverse set of professions throughout the health sciences and related fields.

Faculty across the four academic units in the SHSU College of Health Sciences (Human Sciences, Kinesiology, Nursing, and Public Health) lead the academic components of the 3-day summer camp. Students also tour the campus and experience “college life” through staying in the residence halls, eating on campus, and enjoying some of the social and recreational activities available on campus. During the camp, students will also travel by charter bus to The Woodlands Center campus, which is home to the SHSU School of Nursing.

There is a fee for the SHSU Health Sciences Summer Camp. Once selected, campers will receive a link to pay camp fees online.

Approximately 30-40 students will be accepted to the 2024 Health Sciences Summer Camp and it is a competitive process.
