Student Organizations
There are many ways for Finance and Banking students to get involved in a student organization. Join a department-sponsored student organization or find more organizations at SHSU OrgLink.
The Banking and Finance Club
The Banking and Finance Club's purpose is to provide a club that assists in the development of future financial and business leaders. We hope to encourage interaction among club members, faculty, and business executives through corporate presentations, workshops, field trips, and other unique opportunities.
The goal of our student organization is to foster a sense of pride in students by sharing the knowledge of banking and finance through various meetings and programs.
Beta Alpha Psi
Qualified accounting, finance and information systems students get a head start networking with peers, alumni, and business information professionals. More than an honors organization, BAP fosters a student’s sense of social responsibility and commitment by offering countless opportunities for community involvement. Sponsored by the SHSU College of Business Administration, the Kappa Mu Chapter was established in 2001 and continues the legacy on the Sam Houston State University campus.
The Investment Club
The Investment Club aims to expose Bearkats to capital markets via management of a portfolio. We aim to further members' knowledge on financial instruments, imbue professionalism within members, and create networking opportunities with professionals. Officers of the Investment Club teach members basic investment strategies from a technical and fundamental analysis point of view.
