Bearkat Course - Website
Students will have full facility access to the beautiful Bearkat Course just minutes from campus. Included will be daily use of the range, golf course, and short game area. Bearkat Course will serve as home to the Player Development Program where PGA Golf Management students will receive weekly instruction. Bearkat Course will also accommodate 6-8 PGA Golf Management golf events per academic year. Bearkat Course is a challenging course which will help students prepare to pass the PGA's Playing Ability Test (PAT). Please visit the Bearkat Course website.
Michael McIver Golf Training Center
The Michael McIver Golf Training Center opened in April of 2008. This state of the art 1800 square foot building is equipped with two hitting bays, V-1 swing analysis software and a lounge. This facility is available for use for the PGA Golf Management Program and the SHSU Golf Teams only. In addition to the McIver Training Center, there is a practice green, pitching and chipping areas, a practice bunker and expansive teeing area for PGA Golf Management students.
SHSU Golf Club Repair Lab
The PGA Golf Management Golf Club Design and Repair lab is equipped with all of the necessary equipment for basic golf club design and repair. Students have the ability to re-grip, re-shaft, and modify loft and lie with golf clubs among many other basic repairs in the lab. Golf Club Design and Alteration is part of the PGA of America's educational curriculum and is covered both in class and with hands on use of our Golf Club Design and Repair Lab.
