RFID

What is it?

RFID or Radio-frequency identification is the wireless non-contact use of radio-frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data, for the purposes of automatically identifying and tracking tags attached to objects. The tags contain electronically stored information.

RFID printers are able to encode an RFID tag within your labels, while at the same time printing onto them legibly and professionally. The labels can have barcodes, symbols, characters, numbers, logos, or whatever you need to print on your particular labels. RFID printers need to be able to perform these tasks in high volume while maintaining very high quality.

What are we looking to do with this?

Not only can we use these to track all of our equipment it also eliminates manual input errors and  eliminates paperwork.

Also this technology allows us to receive real time data from the field which can be very helpful in the criminal justice department.

3-D - Printing

What is it?

3D printing is a process of making a three-dimensional solid object of virtually any shape from a digital model. 3D printing is achieved using an additive process, where successive layers of material are laid down in different shapes. 3D printing is also considered distinct from traditional machining techniques, which mostly rely on the removal of material by methods such as cutting or drilling

Example: Gears

The Gears project is designed to develop and promote a new type of art that primarily focuses on the use of gears. It is 3-Dimensial and is pleasing to the eye.

3-D Scanning

A 3D scanner is a device that analyzes a real-world object or environment to collect data on its shape and possibly its appearance (i.e. color). The collected data can then be used to construct digital three-dimensional models.

Collaboration Tools

Virtual Presence (Vgo)

The Vgo is a remote control, mobile technology that uses internet connectivity such as Wi-Fi to engage tele-presence. The Vgo is a 4 ft. tall structure that can be adjusted to 5 ft. The Vgo is battery operated and is primarily made for indoor use only. It has a homing dock that allows the person controlling it to tell it to "Go Home", which sends the Vgo back to the dock to be charged. The client downloads an app which allows them to control the Vgo. This allows the client to explore without actually being there. The Vgo can be used for many things including conference calls, out of state interviews, tours, and much more.

InFocus Mondopad

The InFocus Mondopad is a 55 Inch touchscreen with capabilities such as of video conferencing, Microsoft Office, and cloud connectivity. The Vgo and Mondopad are two separate technologies that are not compatible with each other for tele-presence. The Mondopad is basically every mobile phone, laptop, or computer put together as one unit. The mondopad enables you to take side notes on the screen to display to your client or for personal reference during a video conference. The benefits of using Microsoft Office as a business partner for example, enables you to present and display annual reports and other formal reports pertaining to the progression of the company. Cloud connectivity lets you convert saved Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and music files into a backup storage system similar to the iCloud concept for iTunes.
