The graduate program in Communication Studies is fully online and focuses on key topics in human communication such as interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, leadership and professional communication, health communication, instructional communication and more.
The master's program and graduate certificate provides professionals with the tools to advance their careers in education, management, business development, leadership, and human resources. A graduate degree in communication studies supports those pursuing teaching roles at community colleges, dual credit programs, or adjunct university positions, as well as individuals preparing for doctoral studies, the program equips students with the skills and expertise needed for success.
In addition to the master’s degree, an 18-hour certificate option allows students to gain stackable credentials.
With an accelerated format, courses run for 7.5 weeks in the fall and spring and 10 weeks in the summer.
Automatic admission for applicants with a GPA of at least 3.0 in communication studies or related major.

Applications to the online Communication Studies Master’s Program are reviewed on a rolling basis. We will accept and continue to review applications until all program slots are filled. Early applications are encourage in order to increase the opportunities for scholarships and grants.
Application review for each semester begins:
- Fall: August 1st
- Spring: December 1st
- Summer: May 15th
