You can earn professional development credit on a 1-to-1 hourly basis. For example, if you are in class (or take equivalent online courses) twice a week for a total of 3 hours, you would earn 3 credits for the week toward your requirement. Full-time (1.0 FTE) benefits-eligible staff employees who have one year of full-time continuous employment may be eligible for the Employee Tuition Assistance program. SHSU will waive institutional tuition and fees for courses taken at SHSU. You will only be responsible for the payment of statutory tuition.

Departments may develop online courses or live training events to communicate their services, business process, or demonstrate their product. We will create all online courses and live events in Talent Management. Instructors will be responsible for maintaining live event sessions.

Instructors

All live events must have at least one instructor that manages the roster and creation of sessions. The instructor does not have to be the individual hosting the training. Prior to the event creation, instructors must complete Talent Management Training.

Departments interested in having courses added to Talent Management for registration should contact the Senior Human Resource Manager for Professional Development at 936-294-2328 to schedule a consultation.
