RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Freshmen, Sophomores & Juniors

If you are highly considering Orange Pride, we encourage you to:

Complete the Orange Pride Recruit Interest Form.
Attend Orange Pride clinics and recruitment events throughout the year
Introduce yourself and stay in communication with the coaching staff
Follow Orange Pride on social media for upcoming recruitment opportunities and program updates
Continue developing your technique, versatility, performance quality, and game day

High School Seniors & Transfer Students

Prospective members interested in joining Orange Pride should:

Apply for admission to Sam Houston State University
Complete the Orange Pride Recruitment Application
Submit the required recruitment video materials
Attend Orange Pride clinics and in person recruitment opportunities when possible.
Remain in communication with the Orange Pride coaching staff throughout the recruitment process

Orange Pride participates in the Common College Dance Team Recruitment Video process. Prospective members should follow the current Common College Dance Team Recruitment Video Guidelines when preparing their submission. Additional Orange Pride specific video materials or evaluations may be requested throughout the recruitment process.

2027-2028 RECRUITMENT TIMELINE

Fall 2026
Recruitment is open for Class of 2027 high school seniors and prospective transfer students.

January 8th, 2027 - Priority Recruitment Deadline
Prospective members are encouraged to submit their recruitment application and required video
materials by January 1 for priority consideration.

January-April 2027: Evaluation Period
Prospective members may be evaluated through submitted materials, clinics, interviews,
campus visits & practices. Recruitment offers may be extended on a rolling basis throughout the
evaluation period.

Spring 2027 - Final Recruitment Period
Orange Pride will continue evaluating prospective members and extending offers until the
2027–2028 roster is complete, with the goal of finalizing the incoming team by May 1.
Recruitment materials submitted after the January 1 priority deadline may be considered based
on remaining roster availability.
