Through administration of the Division of Academic Affairs, the Office of the Provost provides coordination and support for all academic activities at SHSU. This includes oversight of our eight colleges, The Graduate and Professional School, the Newton Gresham Library, the Elliott T. Bowers Honors College, among a variety of academic programs and support units online and at our campuses in Huntsville, Conroe, and The Woodlands.

SHSU CJ Professor Receives National Award For Accomplishments In Training

Mitchel P. Roth is receiving the Frederic Milton Thrasher Award for Superior Accomplishments in Training by the National Gang Crime Research Center (NGCRC). SHSU-COM Awarded Nearly $5 Million Federal Grant To Strengthen Biomedical Research And Education

The Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (SHSU-COM) announces a newly awarded $4,990,476, four-year Research and Development Infrastructure (RDI) grant from the U.S. Department of Education. This prestigious grant is part of the RDI program’s mission to invest in research infrastructure, faculty expertise and workforce development. SHSU-COM Dean, Thomas Mohr, DO, is the principal investigator (PI), with Vinoth Sittaramane, professor of neuroscience, serving as co-PI and program director.

Li-Jen Lester, a professor of computer science and associate dean of the College of Science and Engineering Technology at Sam Houston State University, led a successful, collaborative workshop in Indonesia as part of her participation in the Fulbright Specialist Program.
