Certificate in SPED
Graduate Certificate in Special Education Transition Services
The Graduate Certificate in Special Education Transition Services is comprised of four special education courses with a concentrated focus on career development and counseling to facilitate transition from secondary education to adult settings. The courses are:
- SPED 5306 Transition Services for Individuals with Disabilities
- SPED 5307 Transition Assessment and Instruction
- SPED 5308 Career Development and Employment for Youth with Disabilities
- SPED 5309 Leadership in Transition Services
Individuals can take the coursework for the certificate as a stand-alone program, or they may include the certificate in the Master of Education in Special Education for a master’s degree with a focus on transition services.
Admissions deadlines are as follows:
- Spring enrollment: Apply by Nov. 15th
- Fall enrollment: Apply by July 15th
