Department of Kinesiology
Kinesiology is an academic discipline which involves the study of movement-related fields and its impact on health, society, and quality of life. It includes, but is not limited to areas of study such as exercise science, sport management, athletic training, socio-cultural analyses of sports, sport and exercise psychology, physical education teacher education, and pre-professional training for physical therapy, occupational therapy, medicine and other related health fields. Learning occurs through the study of movement and exercise processes within a framework that emphasizes the clinical and practical implications of theory and research.
Undergraduate Kinesiology tracks in Clinical Exercise Science, Human Performance and Wellness Management, and a double major in Education and Kinesiology - Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE), and Kinesiology prepare students for future careers in a wide range of industries.
The Department of Kinesiology offers graduate programs in Athletic Training, Sport Management and Sport and Human Performance.
