Public Health
Understanding the origins and determinants of health and disease across our populations leads to promoting a healthy lifestyle, preventing and controlling disease, analyzing health indicators and educating the public about health options. SHSU's Public Health degree programs provide learning for early and advanced health professionals; to conduct applied, evidence-based research in population health; and to improve health and well-being through community engagement, locally or globally.
The department offers undergraduate degrees in Public Health, Health Sciences, Bilingual Health Care Studies, Pre-Nursing and Health Care Administration as well as graduate degrees in Public Health and Health Care Quality & Safety. A graduate certificate in Health Communication and Public Relations is also available.
