  • A story collection spanning worlds and dimensions, using strange and speculative elements to tackle issues ranging from class differences to immigration to first generation experiences to xenophobia. Brenda Peynado is a Domincan American teaching creative writing at the University of Houston.
  • The Toni Morrison Book Club
The 2023 Convention is celebrating an author of color, American novelist Toni Morrison (1931-2019) with student papers written about her novels and by bringing to Denver the four authors of The Toni Morrison Book Club. In this startling group memoir, four friends—black and white, gay and straight, immigrant and American-born—use Toni Morrison’s novels as a springboard for intimate and revealing conversations about the problems of everyday racism and living whole in times of uncertainty.
